Sprint (News - Alert) will be providing Geotab plug-and-play fleet management solutions for states, local government entities and also authorized non-profit organizations when they place orders through the western states contracting alliance (WSCA/NASPO) cooperative purchasing contract.
Officials explained that the WSCA/NASPO serves as a national consortium of states to facilitate multi-state contracting. State and local government entities can benefit from quick access to quality services via such contracts.
Colin Sutherland, vice president of sales at Geotab, said, “The public sector is an important area that Geotab telematics technology addresses when it comes to optimizing asset use and maintenance. We are offering fleet managers the ability to lower fuel costs, prevent vehicle wear and tear, prioritize vehicle maintenance, and qualify for insurance discounts.”

GO6 device fleet managers in the Geotab solutions enable easy tracking and monitoring of vehicle locations besides given the capability to identify driver activity and streamline dispatch and routing procedures. The system also gives maintenance reminders and alerts for the fleet.
The fleet manager device, GO6 supports all types of vehicles leveraging a special J-BUS adaptor. The capabilities can be expanded to include Garmin navigation, Iridium (News - Alert) satellite, sensors, and other add-ons with the help of an IOX expander cable. Through the vehicle’s OBDII (OBD2) port the device is able to read and send details regarding vehicle health, location, and driving style to the Geotab Web-based application.

Sprint will be offering new iPhone 5S and iPhone (News - Alert) 5C smartphones in all Sprint retail channels from Friday, September 20, 2013. All Sprint-owned retail stores will open at 8:00 a.m. local time on September 20.
